Casio EXILIM EX-G1 Digital Camera Red RD

FINALLY a waterproof camera from Casio! Then I waited for years, so she was immediately ordered. According to the description, it is ideal for outdoor activities, underwater photos …

OPTICALLY least (in red) is an absolute highlight, however, the test photos were a disaster. Image noise without end, blurred colors, especially dark colors are just a Farbbrei. Detail you have to look. The photos of my old Pentax Optio W60 and the photos of the much cheaper Panasonic DMC-FS6 are times better! The photo quality of the Panasonic DMC-FS6 me anyway is always jealous (but for motorcycling, I’d like a camera, where no lens rausfährt, which is at least splash-proof).

Skip to Casio:

The compartment for the memory card makes an impression of instability (which is now really too? – Not an unimportant issue for a camera that will be underwater use!). The compartment for the battery, however, you get only with perpetual practice or excessive force. Schnell mal memory card or battery switch with gloves? (after all, is the Casio so everyone join in and outdoor fun to be operated with gloves on). This can probably be forgotten. In the waterproof cameras from Pentax, this is not a problem that goes throughout the motorcycling (only as a social!
 ':-) '
).

Another glove problem: the left fingers are guaranteed through a lens “, so you should only have a better hold the camera with one hand. What does the camera under water, I have not tried any more after the disappointing test photos.

Conclusion: for the time being I stick to my old Pentax unfortunately lacks an AF-assist lamp. The follow camera, the Pentax Optio W80 12-megapixel, unfortunately, had a poorer image quality. And I hope that eventually the manufacturers say the Pixelwahn bye-bye …
